NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE WINSTON-SALEM CITY COUNCIL ON MINIMUM HOUSING CODE AND VACANT NONRESIDENTIAL BUILDING AND STRUCTURE CODE CHANGES NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to the requirements of Articles 11 and 12 of Chapter 160D of the General Statutes of North Carolina, that the City Council of the City of Winston-Salem will hold a virtual public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on June 21, 2021, on the following proposed amendments to the City's Minimum Housing Code and the Vacant Nonresidential Building and Structure Code: 1. An ordinance amendment modifying numerous sections of Chapter 10, Article V, Division 1, the City's Minimum Housing Code, to align with the North Carolina General Assembly's combination of the Planning and Development statutes in NCGS 160A into NCGS 160D, including but not limited to, changing statutory references, changing the types of orders issued from repair or vacate and close orders to primarily repair orders, making other operational changes and clarifications, and clarifying the nature of the appeal hearings before the zoning board of adjustment. 2. An ordinance amendment modifying numerous sections of Chapter 10, Article V, Division 2, the City's Vacant Nonresidential Building and Structure Code, to align with the North Carolina General Assembly's combination of the Planning and Development statutes in NCGS 160A into NCGS 160D, including, but not limited to, changing statutory references and clarifying the nature of the appeal hearings before the zoning board of adjustment. All parties in interest and citizens are invited to attend said hearing (virtually) at which time they shall have an opportunity to be heard regarding the proposed changes.
