A Lexington man was killed Saturday when the vehicle he was riding in crashed into a pond in Thomasville, authorities said.
Earlie Lee Kepley Jr., 50, died in the incident, Thomasville police said Monday.
The incident happened at 2:09 a.m. when the vehicle didn’t stop for law enforcement officers, police said. The vehicle ran off Unity Street and went into a pond on Colonial Club Drive.
The driver, Timothy Randall Hulin Jr., 28, of Thomasville was charged with driving while impaired, driving while his license was revoked, failing to wear seatbelt and felony to elude law enforcement, police said.
Police will consult with the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office about the case. Officers are investigating the crash.
