WINSTON-SALEM Nov. 13, 1924 - August 30, 2017 Mrs. Jane Frazier Rolandi Gray, age 92, died Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born Jane Evans Frazier, November 13, 1924 in Winston-Salem, the daughter of Walter Kimel Frazier and Treva Tabiatha Knott. She resided with her family in Winston-Salem throughout her youth and during her studies at Salem College. She graduated from Salem College, where she studied music and vocal performance. After graduation, she enjoyed a successful opera career, singing in New Orleans, New York and Italy. She continued to perform for many years during her almost thirty year tenure as a Professor of Voice at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. Mrs. Gray married Enrico Rolandi, MD, whom she had met while singing in Italy and with whom she had her two children. Many years after his accidental death in a car accident, she encountered an old friend whom she had not seen in decades, James A. Gray, Jr., while visiting Salemtowne. They were later married. She described these years among the happiest of her life. She is survived by her daughter, Lady Gianna Rolandi Davis, wife of Sir Andrew Davis, and their son, Edward Frazier Davis. She is also survived by her son, Walter Gildo Rolandi, Ph.D., husband of Linda Beasley Rolandi, and their three children: Veronica Rolandi Russell, wife of Nolan Ty Russell, and their two children Grant Nolan Russell and Ava Marie Russell; Amanda Rolandi Barnwell, wife of John Parker Barnwell, Jr. and their daughter Amelia Parker Barnwell; and Anna Maria Rolandi. Mrs. Gray was a member of Home Moravian Church where she sang in the choir. A memorial service will be held for her Saturday, September 2nd at 3:00 p.m. at the Home Moravian Church.
