Forsyth County has reported two additional COVID-19 related deaths amid another uptick in new cases.
42% of kids in this age group in Forsyth County were fully vaccinated as of Thursday, about 20 percentage points below the county's vaccination rate for people 18 and over. Still, the vaccination rate for the county's youth is higher than the statewide average of 37% for the 12-17 age group, and it's much higher than surrounding counties.
The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services reported Wednesday six additional COVID-19 related deaths for Forsyth, bringing the death toll for September to 35 and 495 overall.
The daily case count was down from the 347 reported Friday, which was the third highest for the pandemic.
