Unleash your inner party animal by attending Tails and Ties: A FIXED Affair, a not-to-be-missed gala benefiting SpayKind. The gala will take place on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Winston-Salem’s historic Union Station.
Set against the backdrop of one of Winston-Salem’s most treasured landmarks, Tails and Ties: A FIXED Affair promises an evening filled with fun, generosity and community spirit. Every ticket purchased supports SpayKind’s mission to provide affordable spay and neuter services, reduce pet overpopulation and save the lives of cats and dogs throughout the community. Whether you’re an animal lover, a longtime supporter or simply looking for a remarkable night out, this is one event you won’t want to miss.
Founded in 1999, SpayKind, formerly Humane Solution Spay-Neuter Program, was created to bring awareness to the area’s high euthanasia rate and address pet overpopulation through an affordable spay and neuter voucher program developed in partnership with local veterinary hospitals. Two years ago, they opened their own spay-neuter clinic. Quite simply, SpayKind saves the lives of man’s best four-legged friends by offering spaying and neutering of animals to pet owners who cannot afford it. Â
The need has never been greater. Each year, approximately 5.6 million cats and dogs enter U.S. animal shelters, and about 1.5 million do not make it out alive. North Carolina ranks second in the nation for the highest rate of healthy shelter pet euthanasia, highlighting the urgent need for prevention efforts like SpayKind’s affordable spay and neuter programs. Â
That’s why SpayKind is committed to expanding access to affordable spay and neuter services. Every ticket purchased, every auction bid placed, and every paddle raised at Tails and Ties: A FIXED Affair directly supports programs that prevent pet overpopulation, reduce the number of animals entering shelters, and bring us closer to a future where no healthy, adoptable pet is euthanized.
In addition to its low-cost spay and neuter voucher program and the spay-neuter clinic, SpayKind hosts several low-cost vaccine clinics each year. These clinics offer rabies and distemper vaccinations, microchipping and nail trims to pet owners throughout the community. SpayKind also extends its impact through its community outreach program, which includes a feral cat TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) initiative that helps stabilize local cat colonies through compassionate, humane population management.
To support this mission, get gussied up in your favorite cocktail attire to embark on an evening of dinner, dancing, a live and silent auction, and a program featuring stories of people whose lives have been directly impacted by SpayKind and its services.
While there won’t be an engineer driving a train in and out of the station, you can expect to be on the right track for a delightful evening alongside animal lovers benefiting such a worthy cause.
Event tickets include a reserved seat for a plated dinner and an open bar. General admission tickets are available for $150 or VIP tickets for $200. VIP guests will enjoy additional perks, including early entry, specialty cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and the opportunity to preview auction items.
You do not need to have any prior affiliation with SpayKind to attend. Tails and Ties: A FIXED Affair is the perfect opportunity to learn about the organization, enjoy an unforgettable evening, and become part of its life-saving mission. Last year’s inaugural gala sold out, a testament not only to the event’s excitement but also to the community’s strong support for SpayKind’s important work.
