Creative Greensboro, the City’s office for arts and culture, will award $325,000 through the Sustaining Creativity: Community Partnership Grants program. Nonprofit organizations with a primary focus on creative programming can receive financial support for general operations, administrative needs, and programming. This opportunity is designed to extend resources to groups not already receiving significant City support.
The deadline to apply is Sunday, September 6. Learn more about the program by registering for one of several information sessions held Monday, August 31, through Friday, September 4. To apply and view additional grant requirements, visit the application page.
“Creative nonprofits are essential to Greensboro’s creative infrastructure,” said Creative Greensboro Chief Creative Economy Officer Jackie Boone. “By investing in organizations that create opportunities for artists, engage communities, and expand access to arts and culture, Creative Greensboro is helping build a stronger, more vibrant creative ecosystem that benefits our entire city.”
A panel led by Greensboro Cultural Affairs commissioners will evaluate applications and award grants ranging from $10,000-$25,000 to recommended organizations. A limited number of organizations may be recommended for additional funds in recognition of their specific efforts toward creative vibrancy and community benefit, as defined in the program guidelines and evaluated by the review panel.
Applicants must be Guilford County-based nonprofits with a primary mission of arts, culture, and creativity, and with a majority of public programming being held within Greensboro’s city limits. To be eligible, organizations must have a history of at least three years of public programming and an operating budget of at least $20,000 one of those three years.
