The City of Statesville is calling on residents to roll up their sleeves and help clean up their community at the 2026 Fall Trash Bash on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
Trash Bash coincides with the NCDOT Litter Sweep, North Carolina’s biannual roadside litter removal initiative, and gives residents an opportunity to make a visible difference in their community.
This fall’s Trash Bash will focus on the Cochran Street area, including the Cochran Street Recreation Center at 1001 Cochran Street (formerly the Boys & Girls Club of the Piedmont), Cochran Street Ballfield and Cochran Street. The new recreation center is expected to open in late fall.
The city will provide gloves, safety vests and trash bags for all participants. Volunteers must sign a waiver prior to participation.
Trash Bash is open to adults and children ages 12 and older. Individuals, families, civic groups, school organizations and local businesses are encouraged to take part.
Following the cleanup, volunteers are invited to an appreciation cookout at the Cochran Street Recreation Center from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. as a thank you for helping keep Statesville clean and beautiful.
Volunteers are encouraged to register by Friday, September 18, to help plan for supplies and the appreciation cookout. Those who do not register in advance are still welcome to participate. Register online at www.statesvillenc.net/trash-bash.
