The breakdown
Radford would fall behind early, but that would be the most adversity the team faced the rest of the way as it cruised to the win. The Highlanders trailed throughout the early portions of the first set and were behind 15-11 at the media break. Out of that break, the Highlanders came out with a new spirit with a 6-0 run that quickly flipped the set back in their favor.
That run came behind kills from Potter and Cadavid and, down the stretch, Potter teamed up with Hatch for more kills to close things out 25-21. Potter and Cunnagin finished with a combined eight kills while Radford held Presbyterian to just a .180 hitting clip after a hot start.
With momentum now on their side, Radford rolled in set two. Ela Shepherd provided a pair of kills early while Potter kept connecting to fuel a run that put Radford ahead 15-11 behind a 7-3 run going into the media break. On the other end of the break, Cunnagin kept things rolling with a kill while Potter finished things off with a pair of kills to seal a 25-18 set two win.
Once again, Potter and Cunnagin had eight of Radford's 15 kills in set two. A pair of aces by Jannazzo and Hatch also proved a difference maker as Presbyterian tallied just one ace in the set.
Things were tight early in set three, but as the set grew older the Highlanders continued to dominate. Radford outhit Presbyterian .333 to .139 in the final set thanks in part to a pair of blocks by Maja Bochenek and Shepherd. Jannazzo set the tone early with two aces that began the set and Potter, as she had all night, helped put an exclamation point on the match with a pair of kills that finished it. She had another team-high five kills in the set while Shepherd and Bochenek added a trio. With another 25-18 set win, the Highlanders capped their 3-0 victory.
