RADFORD, Va. – Radford Athletics announced on Tuesday morning that Alyssa Ramirez will serve as the assistant athletic trainer for the cross country and track and field teams.
Ramirez has worked with the Radford athletic training staff since 2023. She first began working with the Highlanders while in the university's master's in athletic training program, helping provide rehabilitation care for men's basketball and softball student-athletes. Graduating from Radford with her master's in 2025, she's also spent time as a substitute athletic trainer with East Montgomery High School and completed clinicals with Radford High School and Auburn High School.
Outside of working as an athletic trainer, soccer has been Ramirez's passion. She played for Freed-Hardeman University (NAIA), where she graduated with a bachelor's in kinesiology in 2021. Ramirez also spent time on the Radford club soccer team and served as an assistant coach with Auburn High School in 2023.
Ramirez hails from the New River Valley, having grown up in Riner and attended Auburn High School. She married her husband, Ken, in 2021. The couple resides in Christiansburg and has one son.
