SALISBURY, N.C. – Women's soccer junior defender Lucy Hack and men's soccer sophomore midfielder Juan Camilo earn Sept. 9 Catawba Athletics Budd Group Athlete of the Week honors.
Hack led a determined Catawba Indians defensive unit to two clean sheets throughout the week. Against Belmont Abbey, the junior played all 90 minutes for a group that allowed just one shot on goal in a 4-0 victory. She followed it up on Saturday with 82 minutes of foul-free play in a 2-0 win, while the blue and white surrendered just two shot attempts at Newberry, with only one coming on goal.
Camilo was the motor offensively for Catawba in its 5-0 win at Newberry on Saturday. The sophomore scored an unassisted goal in the 66th minute before adding another in the 87th minute to lead the blue and white to their highest scoring output against a South Atlantic Conference opponent since 2023.
