ROANOKE, VA – The Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Monday that the team has traded Joe Widmar’s rights to the Pee Dee IceCats in exchange for the rights to Marcus Fechko. Additionally, forward Taurin Haddon-Harris has been placed on the 30-day injured reserve.
Widmar has played two seasons with the Dawgs. The 31-year-old center produced 29 goals, 51 assists and a plus-six rating in the 2025-26 season. He led the league in both assists (49) and points (77) during the regular season, while also setting a new franchise record for points in a season (77), breaking Nick Ford’s previous mark of 72. Widmar finished the season tied for the most assists in a single season in Rail Yard Dawgs history with 49, and tied for second all-time in single-season goals with 28 alongside former Dawg Tommy Munichiello. In September 2026, Widmar signed with the ECHL’s Reading Royals.
Fechko began his professional career with Roanoke during the 2025-26 season and made an immediate impact before suffering an injury on November 22 in Macon. At the time of his injury, the six-foot-one forward ranked among the SPHL’s rookie scoring leaders, recording three goals, five assists and two power-play points in 12 games. Fechko was traded to the Fayetteville Marksmen in January 2026, where he tallied eight goals and nine assists in 23 games while recording four penalty minutes. His rights were traded to the Pee Dee IceCats in July 2026.
Haddon-Harris signed with Roanoke in August 2026. The Sarasota, Florida, native has recorded two assists and two penalty minutes in the first three games for the Dawgs. Prior to his professional career, Haddon-Harris played four seasons of hockey at Curry College (NCAA D-III). He appeared in 101 games throughout his career, recording 19 goals, 37 assists and 48 penalty minutes. He helped lead Curry College to an NCAA D-III (CNE) championship title during the 2024-25 season. While at Curry, Haddon-Harris played alongside current Dawgs teammates Gage Dill and Manny Cabral.
The Dawgs hit the road this weekend for a two-game set in Moline, Illinois, against the Quad City Storm. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:10 p.m. on Friday, October 30, followed by a 3:10 p.m. start on Saturday, October 31, at Vibrant Arena at the MARK.
