The breakdown
Macy Johnson looked strong over all three rounds this week and was the top finishing Highlander for her efforts at tied for 12th. The senior leader started strong in round one at just three-over, bolstered by a trio of birdies in the front nine. Johnson kept rolling into round two and was nearly flawless at one-over. Johnson was even or posted a birdie on 15 of the 18 holes in round two. To cap her week, she was just as consistent. Johnson had a round-high five birdies to play at two-over and finish at six-over for the tournament.
Competing individually, Mary Elizabeth Harrison had a huge bounce-back weekend and placed tied for 14th individually. The newcomer was incredible in rounds one and two on Monday. In round one she played at two-over, sinking four birdies. In round two she one-upped that birdie total with five but played at par for most of the holes to post the Highlanders' best round of the tournament at two-under. Harrison would round out the tournament with a seven-over showing in round three, sinking one last birdie on hole 10.
After a shaky start to the tournament, Grace Addison would post the Highlanders' third-best placement of the tournament at 15-over and tied for 31st. After playing at seven-over and six-over through the first two rounds, Addison saved her best round for last on Tuesday, playing at two-over. She would sink birdies on the second, fifth, seventh and 17th holes to tie for Radford's best showing on Tuesday.
Rounding out the Highlanders' scoring efforts were Ellie Acrey (T-37th) and Caroline Gilreath (T-37th). Acrey posted strong showings in round one (five-over) and round three (four-over) with a consistent showing overall. While her second round was shakier, she made up for it with a personal high in the tournament of five birdies.
