DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University women's volleyball finished the 32nd Annual Cougar Classic weekend with a pair of defeats to Salem College and Greensboro College on Saturday afternoon at E. Stuart James Grant Center.
Averett (0-3) matched up with Salem (2-1) in the morning session and was swept. The Spirits controlled the first two sets, but the Cougars fought hard in the third. Despite 11 kills as a squad, Salem remained unnerved and closed out the match 25-21.
Senior outside hitter Sydney Mounce tallied 12 kills for Averett and contributed two total blocks. Senior outside hitter Tahani Villines hit .304 with seven kills in the match.
