ROANOKE, VA – The Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Monday that forward David Novotny has signed a contract for the 2026-2027 season.
The Boca Raton, Florida, native is set to return to the Dawgs for his second professional season. Novotny began the 2025-2026 season with the Huntsville Havoc, recording three goals and four assists in 31 games before being claimed off waivers by Roanoke in February 2026.
After joining the Dawgs, the five-foot-eleven forward tallied seven goals, one assist and 22 penalty minutes in 16 regular season games. Novotny also contributed one goal and two assists during Roanoke’s 2025-2026 President’s Cup playoff run.
Prior to his professional career, Novotny played four seasons of collegiate hockey at New England College. He appeared in 102 games for the Pilgrims and secured 29 goals, 24 assists and 98 penalty minutes.
Roanoke will host the Fayetteville Marksmen to kick off the 2026-2027 season on Friday, October 16, with puck drop set for 7:05 p.m. Season tickets, ticket packages and group tickets are on sale now through the Rail Yard Dawgs front office. Single game tickets for the season are on sale now online and at the Berglund Center box office.
