Three new Guilford County Schools (GCS) principals were announced Tuesday following a Board of Education work session.
Gabrielle Hall will become principal at Foust Elementary. Hall currently serves as executive director of curriculum and instruction at Durham Public Schools, where she assisted schools in developing, implementing and monitoring academic intervention plans to address academic concerns. She also worked as a principal at Western Alamance Middle School for two years and as an assistant principal in GCS for four years. Hall holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) and a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of South Carolina.
Emily Stevenson will become principal at Southeast Middle. Stevenson has been an assistant principal at Eastern High since 2022 and is the reigning Assistant Principal of the Year. At Eastern High, Stevenson led data-driven instruction, evaluation and feedback for the math and social studies departments, worked with student focus groups and established the RISE (Reimagining Schools Everywhere) program. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from North Carolina State University, a master’s degree in administration and supervision from Liberty University, and licensure in educational administration from Appalachian State University.

Olivia Stone will become principal at Alamance Elementary. Stone currently serves as the school’s assistant principal and provided instructional and operational leadership that contributed to an improved school performance grade in 2025. She also managed student discipline and helped reduce office referrals by 25 percent. Stone holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Liberty University, certification in exceptional children’s education from UNCG and High Point University, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from UNCG.
These principals will replace leaders who are taking other roles within the district.
Other administrative changes
Maya Bell, currently assistant principal at Allen Jay Elementary, will serve as interim principal at Allen Jay Elementary.
Oak View Elementary Principal Bennie Bradley will transition to principal at Allen Jay Preparatory Academy.
Lamont McMillan, principal at Allen Jay Preparatory Academy, will move to Oak View Elementary as principal.
Washington Elementary Principal Stephanie Adams will transition to a new role as a principal on special assignment.
Kevin Conaway, principal at Southeast Middle, will assume the role of assistant principal at Summerfield Elementary.
Vandalia Elementary Principal LaToy Kennedy will become co-principal at the Early College Academy at Dudley High.
All personnel changes will be effective July 1, 2026.
