GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's and women's cross country teams and Head Coach Kaleigh Roach have announced their 2026 schedule.
"We are excited to start our 2026 fall campaign!" exclaimed Coach Roach. "I feel like we've been able to piece together a schedule that is intentional and strategic for each team that will allow them the opportunity to be prepared and compete at their best when it comes to the championship segment of our season. We also look forward to hosting our 2026 Spartan Classic, which will provide us with the opportunity to celebrate our program and alumni during Homecoming Weekend."
The UNCG women's cross country team wrapped up the 2025 slate by finishing eighth overall at the 2025 Southern Conference (SoCon) Championships. Camryn Oates, in her first SoCon Championship, placed 30th out of 77 competitors in the five-kilometer race with a time of 18:58.8. She was the only Spartan to finish under 19 minutes.

The UNCG men's cross country team finished third overall at the SoCon Championships. Luke Hühn led the charge with his time of 25:24.8 in the eight-kilometer run. He finished 12th out of 79 competitors. Hühn earned SoCon All-Freshman Team honors, second-team recognition and was voted, by the coaches, as the SoCon Freshman of the Year.
The 2025 season was concluded with returning senior Khalid Abdullahi placing 113th out of 240 competitors in the 10-kilometer race with a time of 32:13.4 in his first NCAA Regional. The UNCG men's cross country team finished in 22nd place out of 33 teams at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Southeast Regional Championships at Panorama Farms, hosted by Virginia.
2026 UNCG cross country schedule
- The 2026 schedule will consist of four regular-season meets with three in North Carolina and one in South Carolina.
- The Spartans will begin the 2026 season with the women taking a short ride over to Elon, North Carolina, to take on the Friday Night Lights event on Sept. 4.
- Both teams will then head to the Research Triangle to compete in the adidas XC Challenge on Sept. 18 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
- October will be highlighted by UNCG's own Spartan Classic on Oct. 2 in Kernersville, North Carolina, at the Ivey Redmon Sports Complex.
- The regular season will be concluded with the Upstate Invite on Oct. 17 in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
- The 2026 SoCon Cross Country Championships will be held in Mill Spring, North Carolina, on Oct. 31 at the Tryon Equestrian Center.
- The NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Championships will take place in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on Nov. 13 and then those teams and individuals that qualify will compete in the NCAA Division I Championships, which will be held in Terre Haute, Indiana, on Nov. 21.
